Today, the VNGart Collection comprises over 1,100 works — including 220 paintings and graphic pieces as well as more than 890 photographs by over 180 artists, primarily from the Leipzig region. The collection focuses on artistic engagement with German-German history during the years of political transition and reunification. Its wide variety of art forms reflects the profound impact this transformative period had on art and artists alike.
