Now it’s almost done!
We are looking forward to 2026
On the final stretch toward the end of the year, there are fortunately always plenty of plates of Christmas cookies and chocolate treats to keep us going and sweeten the finish.
Over the past year, we were able to successfully complete two major projects in the fields of digitization and digital asset management:
The collection of the Archive of the Avant-gardes (Archiv der Avantgarden,ADA) comprises 1.5 million objects. Compiled and archived by Egidio Marzona, this impressive and unique testimony of contemporary art was donated to the Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden in 2016. After four years, following the digitization of around 723,500 reflective originals and approximately 61,500 transparencies, the archival component of the ADA has now been fully digitally recorded and can be made accessible worldwide to researchers and interested audiences.

For three years, we supported the Bavarian State Library in the digitization of the stern photo archive and assisted in the setup and support of the Digital Asset Management system. In addition to the stern photo archive, the new BSB image archive also went online at the beginning of the year, replacing the former Sisis database. The service now runs entirely on fylr with a portal based on the Attention Web Platform and includes more than 250,000 entries of historical images and cartographic material.
Since the transition away from Cumulus, we have already successfully migrated over 60% of our DAM customers to new DAM systems.
For example, we transferred 630,000 assets from the database of the Museum for Communication (Museum für Post und Telekommunikation), including complex workflows, to NetX and integrated an interface to the Solvatec collection management system.
For the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, in addition to the migration to NetX and the integration of an interface to the FAUST archival database, an online portal with an image rights ordering function was implemented. The press office of Leipzig University has also adopted fylr along with an online portal based on the Attention Web Plattform as a central tool for internal and external media communication.
Another exciting project from the field of reproduction involved the creation of 45 highly detailed replicas of record covers designed by none other than Andy Warhol. As part of the collection of the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts, Andy Warhol’s designs can now be admired there, while the originals are safely stored in the depot, protected from light and other external influences.

Our MSI system was also brought out once again – and then packed back into its box. Using the CUBE and together with our partners at Fokus, a 17th-century dress embroidered with glass beads was multispectrally digitized for the Armoury of the Dresden Residenzschloss, on site in the textile conservation workshop at the Domstift Brandenburg. The resulting datasets, consisting of multiple layers of infrared and UV images, help experts worldwide to study such valuable cultural artifacts in a gentle and non-invasive manner.
Of course, we also look back fondly on our events Digitaler Frühling 2025 and the DAM – Partner Meeting 2025. These two days are always wonderful opportunities to exchange ideas openly with you, learn something new, and deepen our collaboration.

And now, back to the future:
Without revealing too much, we can say that we are very excited. There is a lot waiting in the wings, and while we are very much looking forward to some hopefully restful holidays at the end of the year, we are equally full of energy and motivation as we head into the new year.
Here are a few dates you may want to mark in your calendar already:
Digitaler Frühling 2026 on May 8, 2026, and the DAM – Partner Meeting 2026 on September 26, 2026. We will also once again be represented at denkmal – the European Trade Fair for Heritage Conservation, Restoration and Old Building Renovation from November 5 to 7 in Leipzig, and we look forward to welcoming you there. Taking place in parallel is the MUTEC – International Trade Fair for Museum and Exhibition Technology, making a visit doubly worthwhile.
For now, we wish you that you enjoy the holidays, successfully convert all those extra calories into new energy, and have a great start to the new year. We hope to see you again very soon.
